Good Morning…….glories

Happy Monday to all!!

The flower I made for todays card was made with an Embosslit Die – Simple Flower.  It’s my take on a Morning Glory.  Let me know what you think!

It was clear to me how the flower looked, but it was the stems that got me wondering.  I’m big on “Google-ing” things and you would not believe the Morning Glories that came up.  There were even flowers  you could print out and color…..like a coloring book.  I was amazed!  Anyway, I found out that they are a very leggie flower with a mixture of small and large leaves with little stems that seem to wrap their way around another stem….sort of like a sweet pea.  I shaded in the center of the flowers with white ink and topped it off with a yellow “Subtle Collection” brad.

TIP:  Another little item that I keep very close on hand on the crafting table is a skewer.  Yeah, you know those long skinny wooden thingy’s that you grill with?  They work GREAT for wrapping your card stock around.  If it’s a little too tight of a wrap….just unwrap it gently and make it as loose or as tight as you want.  But you gotta have one!  I used a skewer to make the little flower bud as well.

Over at Mike Funke’s blog you can find a tutorial on brayering the outside edges of the Tulip Framed embossing folder.  It’s the same technique that I used on these outside edges.  It worked great for me, but as he says, you will have to cut the very outside edges off.  It’s fast clean and easy!

With the blue background, a white Morning Glory was the way to go.

Hope you found something here that helped you along your way in making your next card.  For questions you know that I am only a click away!
