A Small Token For Teacher’s Appreciation

At the first of the year Allyson (our daughter, who is a teacher in North Carolina) asked me to come up with something for her schools ‘Teacher Appreciation Week’.  Just a small token that would be given out sometime that week in conjunction with whatever they decide to do for the faculty.

I came up with 65 of these ~

They are M&M candy wrappers

010           013

These are elementary school teachers, keeping that in mind, I kept everything in primary colors.  The little book worms, made with different sized circle punches, were sponged with Old Olive Ink.  I found black card stock with a premade alphabet to use as the black boards, I sanded each piece.  The stack of books are from the Word Window Punch and the apple is a MS punch.  The sentiment was computer generated.

The wrappers were made in a matchbook style.

  • Cut card stock 3 x 9 of each color
  • score at 3/4” – 5” – 5 1/4”
  • Fold the bottom 3/4” upwards
  • Bringing the top piece forward, fold at the other two scores – you’ll have your matchbook base.
  • Insert your candy bag, with your Crop-A-Dile (or any hole punch) punch your holes at the desired places and run your ribbon through the holes from behind and tie.

Here are 25 of the 65

I hope they are enjoyed by all!

Supplies needed ~ all are SU! unless otherwise noted

  • Card stock – B. Black, P. Point. D. Delight. G. Green, R. Red, C. Cake and W. White
  • Punches – Various Circles, Slot, Word Window, MS apple and small heart, Modern Label and a hole punch
  • Misc. – White Gel Pen, Sanding blocks, dimensionals, Multipurpose glue and ribbon

I would like to take a minute and THANK all of you who visited this blog during the past few days.  I only know you by a number and can only hope that most of you come back and are able to read this thank you!!!

You are sincerely appreciated!
