FTTC–#158 . . . Country Comfort

A HUGE hello and a Happy Monday to all!!

I think I work backwards!  I’ll make a card and then hunt for a challenge to enter it in…….DUH wouldn’t you think I would select a challenge and THEN make the card??  *smiles*

The challenge I found was at Flourishes Timeless Tuesday – Country Comfort.  Where they challenge you to use some type of country on your card.

            019

Burlap speaks country to me, how about you?  I cut a thin strip of burlap and worked it in a circle, stapling it as I went.  I pulled 2 or 3 strands of the burlap out from the outer edge, glued the fern on after some fussy cutting and lastly added a tiny doily and a brown dotted flower.  My small button in the upper right hand corner was a copper colored one.

Kept the inside simple, bringing the green in from the front ~

For some reason brown was calling my name over the weekend, tomorrow’s card is in the same family of colors, it must have had something to do with the DREARY weather we were experiencing.  :-)

Hopefully you’ll find the time to visit me tomorrow!  I always love having your company!

Such texture and truly fits the country theme. Sorry you are having dreary weather. Up here in New England we are looking forward to a midweek warm up where it might reach almost 70 by Thursday. Woo Hoo

This is delightfully country! Love that burlap (wink wink)! It has been dreary but today is COLD--cheer up, the spring weather is right around the corner!

No, I think your way of doing it is the most creative .... and this is a perfect example. It just sings to my gardening heart. Love the burlap, and I find myself gravitating to it a lot recently. I don't want you to feel bad, so I won't tell you my Chinese Red Poppies are already 18" tall ...

This is just lovely Linda! What a great country card, I especially love the burlap! This dreary weather will be gone soon, they are calling for close to 70 degrees here in MD later this week!

This is a lovely card. It is, I guess, restful. It gives me an idea for a Sympathy card, which sadly, I have to make today.

Not to make you feel bad, but, it's 70 and sunny here (sorry, sometimes I just can't help being nasty) LOL
