New Toys . . .

Taking a break from all the sweltering heat this week and hankering to get a couple cards done with some of my new toys. . . hope you enjoy this one.

      006

Wild Wasabi and Whisper White Cardstocks, Delicate Dollies Sizzlits and Finishing Touches Edgelits a bit of Summer Silhouettes stamping and topping everything off with some Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon.

      012

No I did not make these flowers, but aren’t they gorgeous.  They just happened to match the Wild Wasabi perfectly, not to mention the size was perfect as well.

           009

I brought in a little of the Finishing Touches Edgelits to the inside.

Thanks so much for popping in on me today, as ALWAYS, I enjoy having you!  I’m off to the BIG APPLE next week - WAHOO!  If I get the chance to post before then here’s a peek of my next card using the Layered Labels stamp set.  *smiles*

Take Care Everybody and THANKS again for visiting!

Tea For Two…

A very happy Friday to ALL!  I hope your week has been good and your weekend is going to be even better!  *smiles*

I made this card a while back and was getting ready to mail it out when it happened to dawn on me that I never posted it.  I hope you like it.

        002

I have this thing sometimes about everything going in the same direction.  In the Tea Shoppe stamp set all the cups are going in the same direction…..I wanted a cup with the handle on the opposite side.  Remember the A la Carte ‘Tiny Teacup’ stamp from last years IB&C?  It came in handy here.  *smiles*

I had some scrap pieces of designer paper on hand that ‘Always Artichoke’ ink just happened to go perfect with, then added a couple splashes of ‘Pretty In Pink’.

       007

Take a closer look at the flowers…

          008

I stamped them twice, snipping out one set and popped them up with a glue dot for some added dimension.  I did the same thing adding just a part of this flower to the sentiment.

                                           004

Thanks so much for stopping by today, as ALWAYS, I’m so tickled to have you visit!  I’m hoping for time to play with all the new toys over the weekend……we’ll see.  Take care and stay cool!  We have had several record breaking days lately in this neck of the woods.

Hello Kitty . . . and I’m still around

Yes, alive and still kickin’ *smiles*.  I have no excuses and no idea where time goes.  But I can tell you time sure does fly……especially when you’re having fun!  It’s been one thing after another, yard work, revamping my stamp room, a beach vacation and even working in a little exercise.  I banned the computer altogether and found out just how much time I was spending on it……way too much! lol

Now who would have ever thought that anyone would miss me?  Didn’t take long to find that one out either. *smile*  I apologize for any concern and SO APPRECIATE the same.  I SINCERELY thank all of you for the sweet emails!  Each and everyone was a TON of INSPIRATION!

Todays first card was for Lucea, my neighbors little girl, who recently celebrated her 4th Birthday.  Her party theme was Hello Kitty, I was excited – punch art, here I come.   Some how I managed to bump Hello Kitty’s one whisker though, I hope Lucea never noticed. *smiles*  Hello Kitty was created with all SU! punches, I tried to use colored cardstock that matched her invitation – background stripes included.

        003

I didn’t make a list of the punches and I have given the card away.  If you need them let me know and I’ll try to figure them out.

One email that I received from Patty S. was wanting info on a card that I had made earlier this year for a friend’s mother.  She needed a black and white card for a wedding and wanted to use the same idea and asked for the details.  Guess what Patty?  I needed the same color combo for a wedding card, hope this will help you out with some ideas,  Here’s mine.

              033

At another angle -

       034

The banner was cut from a ‘Be My Valentine’ Ala Carte stamp masking over the words – I wanted a blank banner.  The Mr. & Mrs. from the Tiny Tags stamp set was put into place with my Stamp-a-ma-jig.    OMGosh can I tell you how hard it is to capture white and black in a photo!  It was grueling!

Thanks sooooo much for stopping by today and again for all the kindness shown to me during my absence I am so thankful to have you all as followers and friends!  I’m having company over the next couple of weeks…….I may be MIA again – have NO WORRIES I’ll be back!  *huge smiles*

Beau Chateau

Good Morning all and a very happy Wednesday to you.

I have a friend who needed a sympathy card and wanted to reflect her love of roosters.  This is what I came up with…

        018

I first began by snipping out the frame from a sheet of the designer paper and mounting it as if it were an easel; hence the ribbon for the easel legs.  For some reason the dimension on this card was more prominent than others that I have done, have a look.

     002

I popped up the ‘easel’ with dimensionals and worked most everything off of that.

The flower in the center was created with a looped punch that I had on hand and added the small daisy from the daisy #2 die to the center topping it off with a rose punched with a 3/4’ circle punch.  Each of the edges where sponged using Crumb Cake Ink.  I didn’t want to use snail adhesive on the flower and dimensionals were too much.  Glue dots worked perfect.

The sentiment was stamped on a scrap piece of the same DSP and then cut by hand and folded down to the appropriate size needed.

      005

Here’s a glimpse at the inside and a better view of how the sentiment was created.

                        006

Memorial Day weekend is just about upon us, I hope you all have a great weekend enjoy your family time.  Get those grills cleaned up and ready to go, they tell me that this is the official start of back yard barbequing.  *smiles*

Take care everybody and thanks so much for stopping by!

On The Modern Side

You probably have never noticed, but I don’t usually do a lot with squares.  But I liked how this one turned out.

          063

Using your scoring board, a diamond effect worked perfect with the mounting of SU! square punches.  Little leaves and Boho Blossom punch provided the accents.  A case of clean and simple on a one layer card.

The inside ~

                        061

Next time I do a card similar to this one, I’m going to try scoring the diamond shape all the way around the squares rather than on just the one side.  You’ll be the first to see it …. *smiles*

I love clean and simple cards……..makes the post clean and simple as well.  LOL

A little chicken scratch for you all tomorrow . . .

               001

Take care and thank you for taking the time to visit!

Kindness Matters

I’ve always liked this stamp set, but would refrain from using it for one reason or another.  Last week I stepped up to the challenge and decided to use it.

         018

I’m thinking the thing that bother me the most was the fact that the small butterflies were in a straight line and as one stamp….not sure about you, but I have never seen butterflies fly all lined up.  I decided to do something I have never done before…..cut and rearrange the stamp.

                        030

The three butterflies on the bottom is how they are displayed as a stamp.  The acrylic block shows how I wanted them to be after minor surgery.  lol  I then stamped these butterflies randomly throughout the front of my card.  They seem to be more ‘in flight’.

        007

A huge thank you to LeAnne at WEEinklings for giving me the inspiration for running my twine vertically through the Dotted Scalloped Ribbon Punch.  The butterfly was made from the Bird Builder and Blossom Petal Builder punches.  A heart was punched from the Owl Builder punch and placed at the center of the bow knot.  Last but not least, I randomly stamped a dotted background stamp (retired from SU!) to give it a more vintage look.

Thanks so much for stopping in today, I so enjoy the company!  I went from a little vintage today to a little modern for tomorrow, here’s a peak.

                           009

See you then!

Another Mouse or Two

A while back, before I ever began blogging, there were a few blogs that that I would visit everyday.  I would never leave a comment – had no idea how to do it!  I cased this card from one of those blogs sometime back – Paper Punch Addiction with the very talented Kim Score.  Thank you Kim for all the inspiration that you give bloggers and stampers every day with your amazing talents.

A mouse Christmas ~

         005

The only changes I made were to add the holly and at the time I did not have a ‘Merry Christmas’ stamp that fit my space, so I choose to hand write it in.

        013

Dazzling Diamonds show up a little more here.  How clever was Kim to use the Curly Label punch for his hat!  Speaking of Kim and her cleverness, I received an email from her yesterday about adding a nose to the mice on yesterday card.  I took her advice and here’s a quick look at what a small difference makes!  THANK YOU KIM!

        014

Last but not least, I made a clean and simple card with a mouse sending love its way ~ *smile*

        016

      007

SU! watercolor pencils were used on this little guy.  I just added the tiny heart in his hand and a couple larger ones going in an upward direction.

                 009

Can you believe it, if you don’t count the balloons….there are NO layers on this card……..it’s light as a feather.  lol  I didn’t even use the textured white cardstock……I didn’t miss it, did you?  *smile*

Hope you enjoyed my little friends – of the fury kind – this week.  For me they are at their best when on paper!  lol

Thanks for all the kindness you have bestowed upon me this week, I have really enjoyed them all!  Have a great upcoming weekend and I’ll see you right back here on Monday.  Take care for now.

How About A Pair Of Mice

Remember all those rabbits at Easter…… I’m bad about mice as well.  Here’s a pair.

       001

With a smudge to boot!  I never noticed that one.  Not only will pictures bring out the best…….they bring out the smudges too.  This card can’t be done over and I’ll not throw it away either.  I do have a daughter that love’s them with or without smudges….so Allyson, here’s your next card coming your way.  *Smiles*

The body of these little guys were made from the Bird Builder Punch, the wing.  Just set it up on its end instead of the usual slant that you would see on a bird or as a leaf.

When stamping the flower, I wanted a leaf or two to be on the mouse, whaaa  whoooo for the stamp-a-ma-jig.  The greatest invention since sliced bread! lol I fussy cut a sprig off from the stamped image and redirected it on the flower, note the sprig pointing off to the left at the base of the stem.  The sitting mouse on the right hand side is holding a punched piece of the same image as the center of the flower.  The little piece of grass at the bottom is actually the base of the flower turned upside down……recognize it?

       023

Gee, the smudge gets lighter all the time.  *smile*  The cute little faces add a lot of character to each mouse.

Last but not least, the inside ~

                        022

I hope you liked my little furry friends today, come back tomorrow for a Mouse Christmas Card………WHAT, did I hear that right?  *smile*

Totally inspired by the very amazing and talented Kim Score!

See you then!

A Mouse In The House . . .

Not literally of course, but as promised I’ve done a few cards this week using a little punch art mice!  I hope you enjoy them.  *smile*

I chose dressing one card up and then dressing one card down ~

Here’s the up ~

      020

It’s strawberry time here and I just couldn’t resist putting a little mouse in the works.  He was sooooo easy, a couple punches with the 1/2” circle, a little sponging with the 3/8” circle (Itty Bitty Pack) and a tail from the Swirl Scribbles completed him in no time.  And can’t forget the Heart of Hearts die for the strawberry.

Peeking a little closer ~

      011

Okay, there’s a little story behind my sentiment.  This particular one is computer generated……BECAUSE, when I ordered the Bouquet Pascal from last years Occasion’s Mini, I was so focused on the little girl and the dogwood sprig that I DID NOT pay attention to which set I was ordering and ended up with the French set……lesson learned here! lol  So my choices were to print one out the best I could with the closest font or use French.  *smiles*

My little lacey flowers were actually cut from another ribbon that had these attached.  I just wanted the tiny flowers, not the whole ribbon, a 1/4” circle was added for the center.

Here’s the card dressed DOWN ~

        017

Actually either one works for me.  *smile*

        012

It’s always nice when you can get more mileage out of one card….even better when you order the right stamp set!  LOL

Here’s an Eeeeeek! peek at tomorrows mouse, or is it mice???

                         004

As always thanks so much for stopping by, hope to see you tomorrow!
