A Couple Shares and a card…

Hi everybody and a happy Monday to you, I trust your weekend was a good one.  Mine sure was!!!

First WE GOT THE CALL and our son is home safe and sound from Iraq!!!!  You can only imagine our family joy.  I am so relieved and so very glad for him and his family. WELCOME HOME, Jeff!!!

Secondly, I received an email from the good folks at Splitcoast and apparently, in their General Talk Forum, I made the FAVORITES list (among many fantastic stampers) for week ending March 13, 2011!  I had uploaded two cards, Daisies and Lattice and the Funky Fold cards.  They both made the list!  *smiles*

For today’s card I was fooling around with the Blossom Petals punch.  These flowers have been around for a while, but the medium petal in that punch is what I used for this card.

Usually these tulips are made from the Two Step Bird punch.  Here is a picture showing the difference in size.  Nothing drastic, but I found they were more evenly shaped and assembled much easier.  I did not have to fool with them as much, trying to get the petals even with this punch verses the Two Step Bird punch.  Besides I love tulips and will probably make them every spring.

The red petal is from the Blossom Petal punch and the white one is from the Two Step Bird punch.  You decide……

Again using the Two Step Bird punch for the stems and leaves.  I think I better order another one of these punches before I wear this one out! LOL…

and peering on the inside ~

I sponged each flower with the corresponding ink color of the card stock.  Used a piece of Bashful Blue from the Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack for inside and out, added a couple silver half pearls and called it a day.

Supplies used ~ all are SU unless otherwise noted

  • Card stock – W. White, B. Blue, C. Coral, D. Delight, G. Green  E. Eggplant and Patterns DSP
  • Blossoms Petal Punch
  • Corresponding ink of each card stock used on the flowers
  • Misc. – B. Blue Ribbon and silver half pearls from my stash

What a WEEKEND!!! You know they say it usually comes in three’s……my Grandson made a soccer goal as well!!!  Life can’t get any better than this!!! *smile*  Have a GREAT day everybody and I’ll be looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!  If you have the time, leave me a comment.  I love hearing from you!

Love your tulip card today; I think we are all ready for Spring and your card reminds us of the miracle of God's blooming gardens. It is funny that your first two comments are from Pauline's. Oh Linda, what a wonderful post! Thank you to your son for serving our great country and keeping us all safe. I am so glad he is back safely with all his family.

Your card, what can I say ... it's is beautiful!!! Love those tulips and the colors you used.

From one soccer mom to a soccer grandma, woohoo to your grandson! I know how happy he is and how proud you are! I love soccer and will dearly miss it when this season is over. My son will graduate from high school in May and says he is done with soccer. He has been playing since he was 4.

Enough of blabbing! Thank you for the beautiful card and post!
