A Harvest of Plenty

I needed a Thank You card and of course it had to be a fall one. *smiles*  Which meant another pumpkin….

   015

On this card you will find the use of Copics on two of the pumpkins, a punched pumpkin using the 1/2” circle punch and more Flower Soft.  I punched two holes, one on each side of the fence post in order to run hemp through to make a bow.  All was heat embossed with clear EP.

      011

A matching inside ~

               009

Just a quick little post today…..I need to get this card in the mail!  If you should have a question, you know I’m just a click away!

Thanking you as always for stopping by and I wish you all a very happy crafty weekend!

Thinking Of You ~ softly

Hello and a happy Wednesday to all.    I trust your week is going well.

Breaking away from the fall for the day I wanted to try something a little different.  Like soft, pretty and maybe a little elegant ~ here’s what I came up with, hope you like it.

      072

It’s a little Pool Party, Early Espresso and Whisper White with just a dash of Dazzling Diamonds to give you this soft delicate look.

      074

Of course after I got started I realized that I did not have any Pool Party ribbon on hand, so I improvised with this shimmery aqua ribbon from my stash that matched pretty well.  Then the ribbon generated the Dazzling Diamonds for extra sparkle for the center of the flower.

075

I first began by sponging a bit of Pool Party Ink onto the center of the card for a background highlight.  Using Early Espresso, I stamped my image and sponged the center of the stamp with more Pool Party Ink.  I then stamped the same image again a second time onto a scrap piece of paper and cut out little snippets of the center of the flower.  Sponged the center pieces with Pool Party Ink and dabbed a bit of glue here and there on the snippets and coated them well with Dazzling Diamonds.  After using the bone folder and uplifting each snippet, I glued each one into place being careful to line the letters up evenly with the bottom stamped image.

Notice the ‘thinking of you’ sentiment punched out with the word window punch.  Remember the scrap piece you stamped the second time for the flower (snippets) above……that’s the stem portion.  I just lined it up with the first stamped image and attached it with a glue dot.

I haven’t shared a picture of the Grand doggies lately, so here they are at their finest!

This is Sampson with his best toy…….the football!  Yes, his head is actually resting on the ball, as if to dare you to take it away!

  056

And then there’s Roxy……AKA ‘Foxy Roxy’, she rules the roost!

  039

The doggies and I thank you so much for stopping by today, we have sincerely loved having each and every one of you!!!

See you tomorrow!

One Of My Favorites

And how was everybody’s weekend?  My was good, as always there too short!  I hope you found the time to stamp. *smiles*

I wanted to share with you one of my favorite cards.  I had the most fun doing it and am now thinking I need to do one with pumpkins!!  I’m almost sure you can count on one coming your way!!

Here is my kind of wheelbarrow!

025

I bought this stamp for the wheelbarrow.  It had a bunch of this and that coming out of it, but I only inked the wheelbarrow and then applied a little houghing for the finished result.  After coloring with Stampin’ Up water colored pencils, I then began to fill it full of my kind of love – flowers!  I hope you like it as much as I do.

At another angle ~

027

I pulled out anything I had in the way of a punched flower and leaf.  Distressed all edges and cupped each flower.  Glue dots and Tom Bow Glue holds it all together.

Inside ~

            026

The inside shows a heart with pine behind it and a simple yellow flower.  I’m thinking this card could be for any occasion,  Sympathy included.

As always thanks for the visit and your comments are all greatly appreciated!

Jarrett’s Halloween Card

Happy Hump Day to ALL!  We have made it through the first half, now if you can just get through the second half – another weekend will be upon us!

Here is Jarrett’s Halloween card.  I love putting Night of Navy and Elegant Eggplant together – please take a look ~

      010

I had to get out the trusty owl punch for the ghost, just turned it upside down, I only wished now that I had made those eyes bigger.

This pumpkin was folded – mountain-valley style – using the scallop border punch.  The number 31 came from the Dark and Dreary stamp set heat embossed with White EP and punched out using my 1/2 circle punch.

       011

I think Jarrett will like it – especially the treat that will be inside! *smiles*

And that’s it for me this week, I’m going out of town for the rest of it!  Whaaa Hoooo!!!  Looking forward to Friday – it’s official - the FIRST DAY OF Autumn!!!  Have a great weekend everybody!!  See you on Monday!

A Fall C&S Birthday Card

I have got to begin this post with a HUGE thank you to all those who took the time to visit and leave the kindest comments and emails to my blog for the Mantle card posted on Sunday.  Each and every one was greatly appreciated!  THANK YOU!

This will be my last card with a pumpkin….I promise!  I can get carried away with them, it’s just that I love this time of the year and Pumpkins are the THING in this area.  When I made this card I had LESS IS MORE  Challenge Blog in mind.  This week’s theme is - Anything C&S Goes.

Here is my entry ~

      008

This time the pumpkin is made from a circle punch.  Any size can be used – it’s your discretion as to how large or how small that you want your pumpkin to be.  Three stamp sets were use:

  • Gently Falling – the large leaf
  • Autumn Days – the long branch and wheat
  • Happy Moments- the sentiment

A closer look ~

      006

The sentiment was heat embossed with clear EP.  The long branch was stamped with Early Espresso Ink and the Wheat was stamped with More Mustard Ink.  The large leaf was colored with Stampin’ Ups water color pencils and blender pen then snipped out and mounted with dimesionals.
The pumpkin was punched with Pumpkin Pie Cardstock and sponged with the same ink.

The inside kept C&S as well ~

                     003

You know I just thought of something……I lied.  Tomorrow’s card – yet another pumpkin!    Here’s a sneak peek ~

                       007

At least they are all different……right?? *smiles*

Have a great day everybody – hope to see you tomorrow!!

A Thanksgiving Mantle

Happy Sunday to all my stamping friends!  FINALLY cooler weather has found it’s way to Maryland! *smiles*

My sincere appreciation to the very talented Mary Fish for giving me this opportunity to share a card with you.  Thank you Mary!

Sometimes it’s funny where you pull your inspirations from when making a card.  The other day I was redoing our mantle for the fall…..left in the middle of what I was doing to decorate a mantle on a card!

      012

I just love the new EF –Designer Frames!  Although its not real easy to see, the mantle is embossed with the Framed Tulips folder.  The foliage is a mix of fall colors and leaves.  I sponged all the edges of each piece with it’s corresponding ink color.  The acorns came from the Gently Falling stamp set.  Here looking a little closer ~

 006

The Brushed Gold card stock for the candles did not give me that really bright shinny gold that I was looking for, But using my gold leaf pen on Whisper White card stock did.

I kept the inside simple ~ and is a better look at the embossing for the mantle.

                 010

Thanks For Stopping By, I enjoyed having you!!!

Come On Fall

It’s another hot muggy day here in Maryland!  I keep on making fall cards looking forward to things to come!  I hate to complain because in January/February I’ll want those warm summer days. *smile*

       003

Pumpkins and mums are the BIG thing here this time of the year.  With that in mind I decided to showcase the pumpkin.  Hummm I still have ferns on my front door steps!  I’ll have to work on that.

       006

The edges on the pumpkin were distress with Pumpkin Pie ink, the leaf was distressed with Old Olive and Chocolate Chip Inks.  Would this qualify for some quilling???  The jewelry tag punch with an eyelet brad and twine provided the ‘friend’ sentiment.

Then there was the inside ~

                    005

Here’s a little share for you today.  For the next few weeks I have yard detail – I have to cut the grass.  Now normally that is no biggy for me, but we have one of those not so easy grass cutters, it has NO steering wheel, you guide it by a joy stick!  So if you don’t hear from me for the next few days……I’m UP A TREE somewhere!

Thanks for stopping by, I sincerely appreciate your visit!  I’ll be posting on Sunday…….I’m Mary’s Guest Stamper!!!

The wrapper’s measurements are:

  • 9 1/4” x 3”

Decorate as you wish!

The mask on this little kitty is NOT my idea but isn’t it just the cutest!!

And for the inside goodies ~

                      002

So now I have to tell you…Some days I get it just right and then there are those days when things sour from beginning to end.  Take another  look at the kitty.  Do you notice anything?  Your right, NO WHISKERS! lol  I kept looking and looking at him thinking is something missing???  It did not dawn on me until after EVERYTHING was done, even this posting that I had left his whiskers off.  I hope I have better luck next time and I’m hoping the kids won’t notice!

A Bowl Of Cherries

Happy Monday Everybody!  How was your weekend?  After having another 5 inches of rain on Thursday and a very dreary Friday our Saturday and Sunday was very pretty!  We went June, July and August with a very LITTLE amount of rain and now I guess it’s trying to make up for all the lost we had during our drought.

Today’s card reflects on a bowl of cherries from the Cherish Friendship stamp set. Enjoy!

        031

I used SU! watercolor pencils and a blender pen for the coloring.  The Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack provided my backgrounds.

Here’s a closer look ~

       029

Here’s a look at the inside and the fold for the front of the card.

      030

I simply cut strips, made a ‘V’ shape cut on one end of each strip with my photo corner punch and added a brad.  I mounted the top banner ‘Cherish yesterday’ on the top part of the card so that when closed it lays on top of the inside banner ‘dream tomorrow, live today’ (a stamp that I had purchased in the $ bin at a local craft store).

The good thing about this card is that I was able to use all scraps, except for the Crumb Cake base….now that’s a good thing! *smile*

Hoped you liked todays card, maybe you picked up an idea somewhere along the way, if so you have made my day!!!!  *Big smiles*  Leave me a comment and let me know what you think, I enjoy hearing from all of you!

A REMINDER about tomorrow!!!  It’s the Pals September Hop!  There’s a a large list of participants – 22 in all!  Don’t miss it – I’ll be looking forward to seeing you ~ have a great day and as always, thanks for stopping by!

PPA 110–Halloween Theme

I have been on a roll with Halloween and Fall cards so far, a couple more planned for next week ~ I have no idea what I’ll be making when October rolls around, I hope one day to get a move on Christmas cards.

The Pals Paper Arts Challenge this week is all about Halloween, they can be found by clicking HERE.  And this is my entry.

006

The candelabra and spiders are from the stamp set Dark and Dreary.  The skull was just something I had laying around.  The stamp actually had a bunch of other stuff around the skull, I elected to leave that off, I just wanted the skull.  I dug deep for the most sparkling rhinestones that I could find in my stash and added them for the eye sockets.

The flower, believe it or not is from a SU! set dated 2006.  I have no idea the name, I bought it at a sale.  Have a little closer look ~

008

I heat embossed the candelabra with SU! new Pewter EBP found in your Holiday Mini Catalog.

Here’s the inside ~

001

SPOOK-tacular I don’t know about that, but it was fun to make.

Before I leave you all today I would like to share something I got to do last week that was SO MUCH FUN!  Are you familiar with LeAnne Pugliese of WEEinklings?  Her wonderful blog can be found HERE!  I had the opportunity to spend the afternoon with her while she was close by on vacation.  We ate, giggled and shopped!  Can you guess where we are….you’re right, we’re at the closest craft store we could find! *smile*

                          155_5556

LeAnne is just as fun and cute as all her cards.  And let me tell you, she is a ball of energy!!  Thank you LeAnne for a wonderful afternoon!
Be sure to visit her and her precious little Granddaughter at her WEE inklings blog ….. you’ll be glad you did!

Have a GREAT WEEKEND everybody…..a lot going on next week.  Monday I plan to enter yet another challenge and BEST OF ALL the PALS have got a large Fall/Halloween hop coming up on Tuesday.

Take Care and Thanks for stopping by….

River Rock, Well Worn & Fifth Ave. Floral

Hi everyone and a very happy Wednesday to all!

Well it finally happened – always wondered what I would do – and I did… go absolutely crazy without the internet for the last 4 days! And on a Holiday weekend at that!  As a result I am behind in emails, postings and paying my BILLS!! LOL  The thing is….I’m an early riser and without the internet, I was definitely a lost ball in tall grass. Hopefully all is fixed and I can get back to normal.

I was just introduced to brand new challenge blog called “Freshly Made Sketches”  they can be found by looking HERE.  I hope you can find the time to make a card and join in on the fun!  Here is the sketch they are providing us with this week ~

This is my entry, a card reflecting a stamp from the Fifth Avenue Floral set paired with River Rock and Well Worn DSP.  I hope you like it ~

      003

The flower was colored with my blender pen and ink pads.  Besides the coloring, I wanted this flower to be slightly different than the other two, so  I decided  to stamp it with an additional stamp, from the Itty Bitty Backgrounds stamp set – that gave me the tiny little circles.  All three flowers were stamped on Beau Chateau DSP.

          005

The leaves were from a MS punch sponged with Old Olive and Chocolate Chip inks.  With the touch of ribbon, lace and a button from my button collection, I think all turned out well.

Here’s a look inside ~

               004

Supplies needed ~ all are SU! unless otherwise noted

  • Card stock – R. Rock, Well Worn and Beau Chateau DSP, Not Quite Navy and V. Vanilla
  • Tools – Eyelet border punch and MS leaf punch
  • Misc. – Summer Sun, More Mustard and Early Espresso Inks, Victoria lace, Night of Navy Ribbon and flatbacks from my stash
  • Stamps – Fifth Avenue Floral and Sincere Salutations

I hope you enjoyed the card as much as I did making it!  Did you notice – not one piece of Whisper White?  *smile*

Remember to join in on the fun at “Freshly Made Sketches”!

Okay, so tomorrow I hear they’re having a Halloween challenge on the PPA, I’m going to enter…..here’s a sneak peek!

       008

Thank you for stopping by ~ hope to see you tomorrow!
