Can you believe it…..yes, you’re not seeing things! *smiles* We had some much needed rain move in overnight and has resulted into a dreary wet day. But for me that’s a good thing, I got to stamp most all day and actually get a post or two in….yeah!
Today’s card is all about Carla Bazhenow (click on her name for a trip to her blog). Carla was my inspiration in the card making world and if it were not for her there would be no “Linda’s Stampin’ Loft” either. Although I will never be anywhere near as good as she, I’ll continue to keep on plugging away and just maybe, one day, I’ll grow up to be just like her. *smiles* Just when things were getting a little too slack around here, a wonderful “pick me upper’ comes along. How little did she know that this wonderful designer paper and note cards she sent me would provide me all the inspiration I needed to get moving again.
It hurt my heart to have to slightly cover up the bicycle just under the ribbon it’s a really nice touch to the design of the paper. My flowers were made from the Daisy #2 die layered three times. The greenery was provided by the Bird Builder Punch. The flower appears to be a little on the bright side, but that’s due to my inability to get the perfect blend of contrast. I tried and tried! Grrrrr….
Take a look closer ~
The flower center was made from the 1/2” circle punch and then ran thru the Big Shot with the Lattice EF. The bee was from a corner that got cut off when I was matting it to the card base. I didn’t want to loose it so I attached a little twine and added it to the ribbon.
Inside ~
I recently found this sentiment stamp that reads vertically instead of the most common horizontal direction. I’m on the look out for more. *smiles* Nothing was wasted, the decorative border on the inside was somehow attached separately to my bundle of goodies and seemed to be a perfect fit to bring a little of the outside to the inside.
A note of appreciation to all those who emailed me wanting to know ‘where in the world is Linda’ lol I hope to keep posting regularly, but sometimes now with yard work and the Grandkids so into dance, sports and the baby just keeps growing and growing, it’s hard to keep up the pace, but I’ll keep trying….
Thank You Carla, you never know how much the little things done can impact the bigger things!
