Daffodils and a Sneak Peek….

Another week half gone…..time does fly!

Last week a friend and I took the day off and went craft shopping.  My biggest find was this punch by McGill/Starburst, and used for the center of flowers.  I like it!!  It’s so easy to use with your piercing tool mat and a stylus.  But first let me explain how the flower came to light.

A few posts back I made a scrunched (pink) flower using the scalloped punch.  This time I used the same technique but used the 5 petal punch.  And this is what I came up with….Okay this is good, although it reminds me of daffodils it’s too wrinkled for my taste.

I decided a more smooth texture would be better.  And this is what I came up with…..

  1. I first punched out two pieces from the 5 petal punch, one for the bottom and one for the top.
  2. Taking the bone folder, I began shaping each piece upward.
  3. Then placed one upside down (petals pointing down) and glued the other one on top (petals pointing up).
  4. They looked identical to the pink flower above, but were now smooth in appearance.
  5. Using my new punch, I attached it to the center for the stamens.
  6. Easy breezy!!

and this is how the card looked after it all came together…

I sponged each flowers edge with More Mustard and popped them up with thicker dimensionals.
