Ooopsie Daisy with a Ladybug

I was surfing through blogland over the weekend and came across “Just Add Ink”  (http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/)  You need to stop by their blog, I think you’ll be glad you did.  Their Sketch Challenge this week really caught my eye and I decided to give it a try.

This is the sketch for your inspiration

And this is the card ~

          014

I tried to follow the sketch to the letter.  For my taste, I feel like something needs to be added in the upper right hand corner of the card…like a little bling.  That can be added later.   *smile*

I  pulled out my Daisies #2 die for the flower adding a large brad that I just happened to have on hand.  My stem was left over from another project, actually it was sort of a flourish with little leaves and I just cut it up and rearranged it all to suit my flower.  Used different sized circle punches for the ladybug sponging the edges and adding eyes with the white gel pen.  I mounted everything on a piece of scrap MS script designer paper.

TIP: Don’t throw those little pieces of paper away!!!!! You just never know when they might come in handy.  There has been many times when I just needed a tiny piece to punch a 1/4” circle.  Black and white especially………for eyes!!!  I store my bits and pieces back in the card stock packaging - holds everything nicely.

and here’s what the inside of the card looks like ~

Hope you found something here today that helps to inspire your next card!  If you did, leave me a comment I would love to hear what it was!

UPS just left another SU package…..I’m excited!!!!  Don’t you just love it when the UPS man stops by…..LOL!

Supplies needed ~ all are SU unless otherwise noted

  • Card stock – G. Green, W. White, D. Delight, MS DSP, real red and  basic black
  • Punches – Daisies #2 die, 1/4, 1/8, 1/2 and 1 1/4” circle punches
  • Misc. – Ribbon and brad from my stash, B. Black Ink and white gel pen

Be SAFE and be HAPPY everybody!  We have a lot to be thankful for…..we could be living in Japan.  My heart goes out to all!

Gorgeous card! Love your beautiful big flower. I too store all my little left over bits of c/s - you just never know when you'll need that perfect little piece for punching.
