Happy Monday to all my stamping friends!
All the kids were home this past weekend we certainly had a grand time visiting. As most of you know our oldest son is expecting their first child and they just found out the sex…….MALE! It’s a boy for sure! His name will be Jacob William and we’ll call him Jake. His nursery will be done in a monkey theme, they even went shopping and bought the cutest monkey outfits – just adorable! So after they all went home I had to ‘monkey’ around – this is the result . . .
As I was making him I kept thinking –
- one punch
- one DSP
- one sentiment
Then it hit me … that’s the same recipe for this weeks PPA Challenge at the Pals Paper Arts – Dress for success. Well you know what came next. I had to enter. *smile* There’s still time to enter, you have until Noon on August 16th to upload your card.
Here’s looking a little closer -
Two circle punches and a couple eyelets made the bib. The monkey was another story. Here’s his recipe:
Head – two circle punches, one circle was trimmed out with a heart punch to give him that little indentation at his forehead.
Eyes – Owl Punch
Ears – circle punches
Mouth – small oval
Body – Owl Punch and the 15/16” oval punch
Tail – A trimmed out piece from the Swirls and Scribbles die
Arms and Legs – Oval punch
Bananas – Circle punch
Each piece of Creamy Carmel card stock was sponged with Early Espresso Ink.
I decided not to touch the hands and feet…..I thought he looked better without them.
The inside -
And that’s my little bit of ‘monkeying around’. I hope you liked it – even better I hope Jacob will like it. lol
Supplies needed – All are SU! unless otherwise noted
- Card stock – E. Espresso, C. Carmel, W. White, B. Black and A. Appeal and Bo Bunny DSP
- Letters for BABY were heat embossed with gold emp
- Stamp set – Whimsical Words, other letters were misc.
Here’s a sneak peek at tomorrow’s card…..
Have a good one and thank you for stopping by,
I love the company!
