OMGosh – we made it! Whew! We were all sweating bullets but, for the most part, it was rain, rain, rain and more rain….24 hours of it! Any rain gauge that we had overflowed, the local news stations reported 11”. We did not even loose our power! Irene came pretty much right over us, but I guess we just happened to stay on her weaker side. We were glued to the weather channel all day watching her every move, had our boots dug in and were prepared for the worst! Yesterday afternoon was beautiful and spent putting everything back that you boarded up.
Others were not so lucky, just an hour away there was so much tornado damage. Homes destroyed, huge power outages, even life was taken. My heart goes out to all!
I spent my time stamping and was able to catch up on a little cleaning and reorganizing. Here is a card that I made ~
I don’t normally like using a lot of Very Vanilla, but it certainly filled the bill with this card. The flowers were made by punching 3 scalloped circles, cutting out one section of one of the punched scallops and then cutting out two sections of the second punched scallop and gluing them together. The Swirls Scribbles die provides the leaves.
Looking inside ~
So that’s how my day went on Saturday/Sunday. I’ll be spending a good portion of the day today catching up on how everyone else made out on the east coast.
Hope you liked ‘Irene’s’ card!

what a beautiful card Linda ~ as per usual ~ SO glad Irene had a weaker side and that all is well with you! Have a wonderful day today :-)
Glad Irene didn't do as much damage as they expected and you are safe and sound. We here in Canada were praying for you all! :)
Everyone knows that when the weather forecasters recommend taking the proper precautions, they really mean "make sure you have enough card supplies."
You do your best work during disasters. lol
As good Coastal stampers know, a hurricane means extra stamp time! Besides, I am not leaving my stamps behind to evacuate!! I got a lot done during Irene. Have a mess to clean up in the yard but that is about all the damage we got here in Myrtle Beach. Yesterday was super hot and sunny! I am thankful that so many came through the storm with so little problems. My heart goes out to all that have major damage or worse.
So glad that you are fine and safe! :) You made a another gorgeous card! Hugs, J
So glad you and your family are safe.
This card is beautiful, Linda! I love the innards of your flower ... spectacular look!
