A Slice of Chocolate Cake

Hi everyone!  It’s that time again when the PPA hosts yet another great challenge- PPA 108 CAS-Element of Style, their link can be found HERE.  This week they suggest to soften the edges of your design…..Think soft and comfy!  Well when I saw the words soft and comfy that was enough for me – CAKE, and make mine chocolate please!

The slice of cake was made with the Petite Pennants Builder Punch, do you recognize it?  I just cut the bottom off one side of the scalloped layer.  The next layer – making mine chocolate - was cut with Early Espresso and sponged with White Craft Ink.  A thin strip was cut for the ‘icing in the middle’.

After punching the scallop circle, I used my slot punch to make two slots in the middle which enable me to run my ribbon thru and tie a bow.

Here’s a closer look -

The candle was done with a MS punch, the flower was made with the Itty Bitty Punch Pack, I cut my leaves free handed.

And the inside ~

Got to thinking….I like white cake with chocolate icing too! *smiles*

I’m not sure if you noticed, but I trimmed 1 1/2” off the front of this card.  The sentiment ‘bring on the cake’ is actually stamped on the inside.
